HISTORY

2015

The idea to establish PLAN 3 is born at the Olympic Games in Munich. Heinz R. Friedrich and two colleagues, who were working with Olympia Baugesellschaft mbH at the time (which was instrumental in creating Munich’s Olympiapark), join forces and found PLAN 3.

The company registers as a GmbH entity (limited liability company). The company starts as a three-man team. At this time, the office is located in Hall 20 and its workshop and storage facilities in the service building of Munich’s trade-show exhibition centre.

PLAN 3 GmbH becomes an Octanorm Service Partner. Today it is one of the organisation’s longest-standing members.

PLAN 3 GmbH expands, moving into a larger building in Ridlerstrasse right next to the trade-show exhibition centre. With 2,000 m², all areas of the business – office, planning, workshop, graphics, production and warehouse – enjoy significantly more space.

PLAN 3 GmbH joins the FAMAB association.

The Schreinerei Heinz R. Friedrich joinery is founded, expanding the company’s field of activity to include woodworking and joinery for trade show construction.

PLAN 3 already has 30 employees working in the areas of administration, installation and in the joinery.

The Display department separates and moves into its own office and production space. As one of the first trade-show construction companies, PLAN 3 had already decided several years prior to expand its service so that it could also provide clients with displays and portable trade show stands.

The entire company moves to München-Riem, another area of Munich. Munich’s trade-show exhibition centre had already relocated to Riem and PLAN 3 followed. From this point in time, all of PLAN 3’s services are once again located on its own premises directly next to the trade-show exhibition centre.

Heinz R. Friedrich retires from the company’s operations and hands over management to his son, Fabian Friedrich.

An additional building is erected for the Schreinerei Friedrich joinery, located across from the company’s main building, so that the building capacity is increased to a total surface area of 4,500 m².

The foundation stone for an additional 800 m² warehouse is laid, located right next to the PLAN 3 company building.

The Logistics department moves into the newly finished warehouse to leave its old building completely to the joinery and allow for more production space as a result.

PLAN 3 GmbH celebrates its 40-year anniversary with over 50 employees.

PLAN 3 adds another building to its premises, giving the Graphics and Display department more space, expanding and redesigning the showroom, and also creating a modern area where employees and clients can meet and interact.

We set up the PLAN 3 trade show shop just in case you still need something
else to secure the perfect trade show appearance for your company.

The shop is located in the atrium just in front of Hall B5
at the Messe München trade-show exhibition centre in Munich.

Our in-house joinery has been a master workshop for 20 years,
with a special focus on commercial and trade show construction.

We enjoyed a partnership with napcaps, manufacturer and operator of high-quality and comfortable sleeping cabins. You can find them both at Munich Airport waiting area and Tegel Airport, Berlin.

We are a member of FAMAB, the professional event management association.
